James focuses his practice on complex business litigation, corporate governance disputes, and consumer class action defense.
James offers clients specialized expertise at all stages of federal court litigation. James clerked at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California after law school where he gained an intimate understanding of the Court’s inner workings, civil motion procedures, and trial practice. In law school, he gained invaluable insight into the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit’s decision-making process as a judicial extern. James has written Ninth Circuit merits briefs, argued an appeal before the Ninth Circuit, and helped draft a certiorari petition in the U.S. Supreme Court.
James also is committed to public service. He is an adjunct faculty member at his law school where he teaches a civil pretrial practice course, and he regularly provides pro bono services to asylum seekers throughout the asylum process and beyond.
